A strong opening quarter propelled MIT to a 72-45 win over Salem State University in the championship game of the Salem State Holiday Tournament on Friday afternoon. The victory resulted in the Engineers’ best start in program history as they improved to 9-2. In addition, head coach Sonia Raman became the all-time winningest coach at MIT as she surpassed Jean Heiney’s tally of 86 that was established at the conclusion of the 1987-88 season.
